Demon-crats?

Letter to the editor
Published: July 24, 2008
In its July 13 editorial, How low will it go?” the Dothan Eagle states we readers would never see such negative campaign advertising in its pages.
Yet just one page over, we see a degrading photo of president George Bush in “his final G8 meeting.” Every time I read the Dothan Eagle, I see where they choose to publish criticism of our Christian president and they’re already starting to publish criticism of John McCain.
I think we the readers can clearly see the Dothan Eagle is onesided and are Demon-crats. Oh my bad, excuse me, I mean Democrats. I notice they never print anything positive of President Bush or of any Republican, for that matter. It seems they deliberately choose their far-left views from CBS and NBC as well as other far-left wingers. Perhaps Dothan Eagle customers would like to read some “positive” pages on Republicans from Fox News; after all, you state we’ll never read such negative advertising in your paper.
I really don’t expect this to be in the Eagle; my views never are due to me being so Republican. It seems they have their chosen few who are allowed to write “letters to the editor.”

As a citizen who votes Republican I am offended by the so called Christian (Moral Majority) high jacking the party. Cheryl A. Hall seems to have a need to refer to the Christian religion of President Bush. Christian values do not give one the wisdom or skills necessary to lead a country. I voted for Bush twice, neither time because of his Christian values. If this is the only qualification such people are looking for in a president we can see how Obama’s is stirring up so much press. After all so much of his controversy has been stirred up by his Christian life style. Organized religion does not have the monopoly on wisdom – morals’ - character or leadership ability.

Wow! That took courage for the Eagle to publish. Now the question, will they act on this?
