Three businesses are in the process of being erected in Enterprise, while a fourth is busy renovating a building.
Heavy rain slowed some construction, but workers are back on the job at Panera Bread on BollWeevil Circle in front of Publix Super Market and just to the north of Best Western.
Ray Bickley, director of engineering/ public works, said he talked with Panera Bread officials Monday morning. All plans have been approved by the city and Panera could be opening as early as September.
CVS pharmacy is going in across Boll Weevil Circle from Panera Bread, recently knocking down the building that once housed a Shell gas station.
Bickley said permits had been an issue for CVS with that area being in a flood plain.
“They had a lot of studies on that property,” Bickley said.
CVS is still hoping to be open for business by the end of 2013.
Chick-fil-A was slowed for a time with its construction in front of JC Penney on Boll Weevil Circle.
Some building plans have been revised, and Bickley believes the restaurant will be open by mid-fall.
Jimmy John’s Gourmet Subs will be opening on the west end of Morgan Square Mall off Rucker Boulevard.
It is refurbishing a former computer store. Bickley said that restaurant likely will be ready in 90 days.
