U.S. Representative Martha Roby, during her two stops in Coffee County on Tuesday, said that the recent publicized problems with the Central Alabama Veterans Administration were hardly born this year, rather products of a long-brewing culture there.
“This didn’t just happen overnight,” Roby said during a brief interview before meeting with area business people at Billy Cotter Construction Tuesday afternoon. “It has been a problem at the VA for years. I don’t think it lies at the feet of one individual. I feel like we’ve found through our inquiry that it has just been a culture created throughout the VA.”
