I want to take this opportunity to humbly beg the Houston County commissioners to reconsider their action regarding Country Crossing. I am so fearful of their decision to bring gambling into this great community. I have two small children and even the idea of entertainment on that level is obtrusive at best.

The thought of adding “bingo” to that will totally change the lifestyle we presently have here in Dothan. The community’s reputation is at stake along with our children. Our prayerful decision to live in this town to allow them a clean, wholesome future will disintegrate before our very eyes. Do their constituents not even have a say?

Do they realize they did not even take into consideration the very people who voted them into office? I can assure you this is not the platform they were elected upon. I pray that their consciences will win over any “well-made plan” they may have and that they will rescind this action immediately.
