A matter of opinion
Wednesday, Apr 23, 2008 - 12:00 AM Updated: 11:38 AM
A letter by Dana Howell was published April 13. Here is my opinion of it. Her belief apparently is that as long as no one physically does something to her, then everything else they do is ok.
She speaks as though being gay is OK. Those who think it is OK to be gay should go to Leviticus, Chapter 18 and begin reading. I do not believe that being gay is an inborn trait. That argument is nothing more than a poor attempt at justification of an abomination.
One of the reasons that America is in the trouble that it is today is that we as a nation are too afraid of hurting everyone’s feelings. Do you think that the radicals that we are fighting overseas worry about bruising the egos of our service men and women when they are burning them alive, cutting off their fingers and sending them home or even beheading them?
You never hear about these militants attempting to get permission from their government before pouring water on someone’s face because it is considered torture. I think that if America wants to continue to be a sovereign nation, we had better learn very quickly how to hurt people’s feelings.
I also believe that we should torture known terrorists to get the information we need to end this war and to protect our children. We should do whatever it takes to protect this country and its values. Leftists have complained that this war has gone on longer than World War II. Do you recall what ended World War II? Will you give the OK for that again? I don’t care what anyone thinks of me or my opinions. I have the right to them just as anyone else does. No one has to agree with them. I certainly do not agree with Dana Howell’s.
