Protest oil prices
Friday, May 02, 2008 - 09:10 AM Updated: 10:11 AM
I read the paper, listen to the news on WTVY and read news on the Internet and I cannot believe the media is not calling for a reduction in the price of fuel. I understand that they “only report the news” but, by the same token, why do they strengthen the position of oil companies by going along with the prediction of $4-a-gallon gas by summer?
I wonder when the oil companies will feel they have squeezed us enough. Our economy is in shambles due to raising prices of day-to-day goods. Personal budgets are stretched beyond breaking.
When do the American people say enough is enough and start another revolution to regain our country? We threw off the yoke of England; now it is time to free us from imported oil and open our oil wells and refine fuel for this country first. Then, if the rest of the world wants to pay $5 a gallon, let this country receive the profits.
