Kirkland seeks Commission re-election

Name: Albert Kirkland

Background: Graduated from Cottonwood High School in 1966. He started Albert Kirkland Construction in 1986. Albert’s first election to public office began in February 2011 in a special election. Prior to his election to the City Commission, he served on the Dothan Planning Commission for many years. He is an active member of the Dothan-Houston County Republican Executive Committee and an affiliate member of the Houston County Republican Women.

Platform: Since election to the Commission, Kirkland has said one of his primary goals has been to support efforts that bring private sector jobs to the Dothan area. He has emphasized the need to maintain roads and infrastructure he believes make Dothan ready and appealing for companies to relocate jobs here. Kirkland has also said a priority has been to respond to and resolve concerns of the residents of District 3. Kirkland said he has sought to respond to each request in whatever manner was most effective to bring resolution to the issue. He said these areas of emphasis will continue as priorities if re-elected to serve Dothan’s District 3 residents.
