The Houston County coroner identified the man who died in a single-vehicle crash Tuesday morning as Ozark resident Vincent Paul Turner.
Robert Byrd, the Houston County coroner, said he pronounced 24-year-old Turner dead at the scene of the crash around 7:50 a.m. The crash happened in the southbound lanes of travel on U.S. 231 South, near Center Stage, around 6:30 a.m.
Byrd said Turner had apparently only recently moved to the Ozark area from Washington.
Troopers with the Alabama State Highway Patrol responded and continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Alabama State Trooper Sgt. Steve Jarrett said a passenger suffered injuries in the crash and was taken to Southeast Alabama Medical Center for treatment.
Byrd said Turner was driving a 1993 Cadillac in the southbound lanes of travel when the crash happened.
