An ongoing legal dispute with a real estate developer has stretched past a year for the Town of Cowarts.
The town filed for a declaratory judgment last March against Dynamic Developments, a group seeking to develop a subdivision called Miller’s Crossing.
Dynamic countersued last July, seeking about $1 million in punitive and compensatory damages.
Since then, the suit has languished in the court system, according to court records and Cowarts Mayor Randy Roland.
Virginia Lynn McInnes, the attorney representing Cowarts in the suit, declined to comment Friday.
Dynamic Developments attorney Davis Malone did not return multiple calls Thursday and Friday.
