Two people pleaded guilty this week in Houston County to the solicitation of a child for a sex act.

Court records show David Mike Aguirre, 74, of Port St. Joe, Fla., and Paul Steele Getty III, 37, of Midland City, both pleaded guilty earlier this week to the felony charge of electronic solicitation of a child.

Records show both men had a second felony traveling to meet a child for an unlawful sex act charge dismissed as part of their guilty plea agreements.

Both men received 15-year prison sentences in front of different Houston County judges. Both men have applied for probation, which will be determined next month.

Getty, who also had a felony possession of child pornography charge pending, also pleaded guilty to a possession of an obscene matter charge. He received a 10-year prison sentence for that charge, for which he’s also applied for probation.

Assistant Houston County District Attorney Banks Smith said both of Getty’s sentences were ordered to be served concurrently with each other. He said Getty pleaded guilty to soliciting a child he “believed” to be under the age of 16.

“His phone was seized at the time of his arrest at Westgate Park, and a search warrant was used to download the contents in which child pornography was discovered,” Smith said.

According to the prior Eagle report, Getty allegedly planned a meeting with a teenage girl at Westgate Park. When Getty arrived at the park, police were waiting and took him into custody. Investigators said at a prior court hearing they found a six-pack of wine coolers and condoms on Getty at the time of his arrest.
