Dothan police recently arrested a 33-year-old woman on a charge she allegedly set fire to a couch a man was sitting on.

According to a statement from Dothan Police Sgt. Maurice “Mac” Eggleston, police investigators arrested Sheree LaJean Wright on Friday and charged her with felony first-degree arson.

The statement said the charge stemmed from police responding to an arson complaint made in the 200 block of Roberts Street.

The arson offense allegedly happened after Wright and the victim apparently got into an argument last Thursday.

Records show Wright was released from the Houston County Jail after she posted $10,000 bail.
