Houston County Sheriff's investigators arrested a convicted felon and charged him with trafficking $10,000 worth of cocaine.
Sheriff’s Capt. Antonio Gonzalez said investigators arrested William Allen Porter, 38, of Webb, and charged him with trafficking cocaine.
According to a sheriff’s statement, investigators arrested both Porter and Clifton Tyrone White, 31, of Dothan, on Thursday. White was charged with felony unlawful possession of a controlled substance and attempting to elude law enforcement.
White was charged with eluding law enforcement after a vehicle pursuit happened from Brannon Stand Road in Taylor to South Woodburn Road in Dothan.
The sheriff’s statement said the arrests came as a result of an ongoing investigation that led to surveillance and a search warrant being served at 131 Pettiway Trace in Taylor.
The statement also said investigators seized about 100 grams or 3.5 ounces of cocaine, which had an estimated value of about $10,000.
Porter was taken to the Houston County Jail and held on $250,000 bail, and White was held on $2,500 bail.
Gonzalez declined to release any other details regarding the arrests, citing an ongoing investigation.
Court records show Porter pleaded guilty to three felony counts of drug distribution in 1997.
