Cottonwood woman convicted of Medicaid fraud

A Houston County jury convicted a 63-year-old Cottonwood woman of unlawfully receiving more than $16,000 in Medicaid benefits.

Assistant Houston County District Attorney Banks Smith said the jury convicted Shirley Folds of a felony Medicaid fraud charge. He said Circuit Court Judge Larry Anderson will sentence Folds next month. She faces one to five years in prison.
