Newton woman gets 12 years for thefts from local business

A Newton woman received a 12-year prison sentence on Monday for embezzling money from an area business.

Court records show Cynthia Gilley, 45, of Hilltop Road, received a 12-year sentence for each of the 10 felony first-degree theft of property charges she pleaded guilty to last year. The sentences were ordered to run concurrently with each other.
