MIDLAND CITY - Sheryl Anderson raised a lighted candle in thanks and praise to God on the square in Midland City on Monday night.

Anderson, of Napier Field, said she’s thankful for the news of the successful rescue of the 5-year-old boy named Ethan, who was abducted and held for nearly a week in an underground bunker by 65-year-old Jimmy Lee Dykes. The incident began when Dykes got on a school bus, shot the 66-year-old driver, Charles Albert Poland, before kidnapping Ethan and taking him to his bunker.
