Alabama Power has been a household name in Headland for more than 50 years. With times changing and Headland continuing to grow, what better way for Alabama Power to grow with the community than to open a larger location.
“Alabama Power is known for offering reliable, safe service,” said Chere Johnson, business manager for Alabama Power, Headland location. “Our motto is ‘Alabama Power Always On,’ and that is something we are very proud of. We want our customers to know they come first, and serving them to the best of our ability is what has made this company what it is. Without our customers there would be no need for Alabama Power.”
The Headland location of Alabama Power is the first location where the business office, crews and headquarters are located under one roof.
“Having everyone under one roof is very important,” Johnson said. “It is part of all of our jobs to communicate and to communicate well. Being under one roof allows us to do just that. Of course, you could call or send a message. But nothing is better than speaking face-to-face. This helps eliminate the problem of not totally understanding and addressing the issues. Face-to-face conversation leaves room for questions, and it also leaves room for answers. When you have both in a company that is dedicated to getting the job done, the job is done right.”
Alabama Power customers can not only pay their bill, make bill inquiries or set up new service at the new location, but they can also purchase appliances, and, if all criteria are met, add the monthly payment to their power bill. Individuals can also speak with the engineering department at this location regarding any questions concerning specs related to power poles.
“Actually, the best way to describe our Headland location is the one stop shop for our customers,” Johnson said. “Also, with our new location, we are offering our customers convenience. This location has more parking for customers, not to mention is easy to get in and out of. We can not only assist our residence customers, but we can also accommodate our commercial customers with parking in an area for larger vehicles.”
The new location is double the size from the old location located downtown. The new building is also equipped with a safe room for employees that can accommodate 124 individuals.
“If you are a current Alabama Power customer or if you are relocating and will be a customer, stop by our Headland location and let us see how we can accommodate you,” Johnson said. “We may have expanded in our building size, but the one thing that will always remain the same is our customer service. We are here to serve you, and we are dedicated to doing just that.”
The Headland location of Alabama Power is open Monday-Friday, 8:15 a.m.-5 p.m.
