Tracy Pruitt didn’t realize how much she loved teaching until she was out of it.

Pruitt, a 23-year veteran educator, spent two years as a reading coach before deciding that the classroom was where she really belonged. Pruitt went back to teaching and now is in the running to become Alabama’s Teacher of the Year.
