I followed the news on Oct. 18 about the illegal slot machines and the money, $288,000 confiscated from bingo and it’s now the property of the state to be part of the General Fund.

The state will destroy the machines. Is this a double standard if you destroy the machines and keep the money? This is the state of Alabama, where it is illegal for bingo. Why is it not illegal to keep the money?

Why not divide the money with Florida and Georgia nursing homes, rehab centers, senior citizen centers, homeless shelters and schools, since it is illegal?
