We recently visited Mt. Gilead Cemetery off Co. Rd. 41 on the line between Houston and Geneva counties. There were brand new grave markers for the Pate and Parrish families and a new huge plague erected just outside the cemetery honoring the Choctawhatchee Rangers and a Jeremiah and Greene Pate, who are buried in the cemetery. There were also American flags placed on all of the veterans’ graves.

I am interested in contacting the person behind this wonderful deed. I have family buried there and wish to be a part of the effort to restore the cemetery.

Send information to 140 Lakeland Circle, Fayetteville, GA 30215, or by email to wilbanksredd@bellsouth.net.
