The Enterprise Chamber of Commerce is working to connect locals and legislature with a “Legislative Luncheon” at the Enterprise Farmer’s Market on Monday.
Beginning at 11:30 a.m., the luncheon invites business leaders, elected officials and Wiregrass-area residents to enjoy a meal courtesy of Kelly’s Katering and hear updates about recent legislative sessions from District 91 Representative Rhett Marques. In addition to speaking about the sessions, Marques will be available for a question and answer session following his address.
Chamber Government Relations Council Chairman Paul Sherling said the legislative luncheon is an important opportunity to get the Wiregrass connected with its representatives and learn more about current government affairs from someone who is in the trenches daily.
“More than anything else, this is a chance to let legislative delegates talk about what’s going on in Montgomery and how it affects us locally,” Sherling said. “It’s an opportunity for Chamber members and other members of the community to learn about what’s going on in session now. It’s also an opportunity for Representative Marques to share his perspective of all this, because he’s a new representative.”
The cost of attendance will be $12 per person to cover lunch expenses. Those interested in attending are asked to contact the Enterprise Chamber of Commerce at 334-347-0581 to RSVP for the event.
“All are welcome to join us at the Farmer’s Market, and we hope they do,” said Sherling.
