A busy slate of games this week is highlighted by region matchups for Enterprise High School’s baseball and softball teams.
Currently at 12-14 on the season, the Wildcats picked up their first region victories last week, defeating the R.E. Lee Generals on the road 16-0 on April 2 before downing R.E. Lee again in both games of a doubleheader on April 4.
Enterprise will face area foe Jeff Davis on the road today, at 4 p.m., and then will host Jeff Davis in a doubleheader this Thursday, April 11, also beginning at 4 p.m.
The Wildcats are tied with Prattville for first place in Class 7A, Area 3 standings. Both teams are 3-0.
Meanwhile, the Enterprise Lady Wildcats are 5-16 on the season and 1-3 in region play with an opportunity to move up in the rankings.
Today, the Lady Cats travel to Jeff Davis at 6 p.m. looking to avenge a 7-4 loss from March. On Thursday, the team travels to play R.E. Lee, beginning at 5 p.m.
Enterprise is third in the region, two games behind Jeff Davis. Prattville has the top spot at 4-0.
The Enterprise Lady Wildcats are 10-1-1 and getting set to host Northview today at 7 p.m.
A crucial matchup follows that game when Enterprise hosts Auburn (7-3-2) next Monday night, first game at 7 p.m.
The EHS boys will host St. Paul’s Episcopal School at 5:30 p.m. today and have a big contest against Fairview coming up at home on Friday, April 12 at 7 p.m.
The EHS teams will host Carroll High School today and then travel to Dothan on Thursday. Both games begin at 3:30 p.m.
Enterprise will continue play on the second day of the 2019 Hike the Hills Girls’ Golf Tournament, held at Highland Park in Birmingham.
