Dates and opponents have been set for Enterprise High School’s 2019 football season and Rick Darlington’s first year at the helm of the Wildcats.
Enterprise will be in Wildcat Stadium for the opener on Aug. 23 against an unfamiliar foe in the North Miami Beach Chargers. It will be the first ever meeting between the two schools.
Following the opener, the Wildcats enter a three-game road stretch in late August and early September against Charles Henderson on Aug. 30, Auburn on Sept. 6 and Smiths Station on Sept. 13.
After that stretch, the ‘Cats come back home to play in three straight games vs. Prattville on Sept. 20, Dothan on Sept. 27 and Central-Phenix City on Oct. 4.
Enterprise gets a bye week after playing Central and returns to action on Oct. 18 for a road contest against the R.E. Lee Generals. A home game vs. Jeff Davis and an away game against Theodore close out the regular season for the Wildcats.
Military Appreciation Night is set for Sept. 20 against Prattville. Homecoming will be the following week against Dothan, and the Jeff Davis matchup on Oct. 25 will be Senior Night.
Darlington comes to Enterprise with 206-69 head coaching record and several state championships at Apopka High School, in Florida.
He replaces six-year head coach David Faulkner, who resigned after Enterprise won four games in two seasons.
JV’s six-game regular season begins at home on Aug. 26 vs. Dothan. Then, the Wildcats will play four straight road games against Crestview on Sept. 5, Andalusia on Sept. 9, Niceville on Sept. 30, and Dothan on Sept. 30.
Enterprise hosts Auburn on Oct. 7.
Enterprise’s ninth-graders start play at home on Aug. 26 against Charles Henderson, and then play road games against Crestview on Sept. 5, Eufaula on Sept. 9, Central on Sept. 16, Niceville on Sept. 19 and Dothan on Sept. 30.
The Wildcats host Auburn on Oct. 7, and then travel to Prattville on Oct. 14.
