Former Enterprise Mayor Kenneth Boswell officially became head of the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs at his swearing-in ceremony Monday.

Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey appointed Boswell to the position May 5.

Boswell replaces Jim Byard, who resigned earlier this month. Boswell served as Enterprise’s mayor for 14 years. ADECA oversees the distribution of state and federal funds to local communities.
