Marianna, Florida native Kristi Noblin, is a fresh face on Alabama stages, but this petite performer brings a big voice that stirs up what being homemade sounds like no matter where you’re from. She will celebrate exactly one year, of sharing her talents as a singer-songwriter for local listeners as, “Kristi Leann” by playing at Enterprise’s newest spot for steaks, and seafood, The Craft Bar and Grill, on Sunday, June 9, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Her angelic originals recently featured at Dothan’s Cultural Arts Center along with those of veteran players from around the state, and she has taken what she has learned on her short road to being an entertainer to a variety of venues that support her brand of a beautifully personal, acoustic experience.
Noblin’s is a soothing variety of soft rock covers that she chooses for her pop-country voice, in part by whether, “Miley Cyrus would sound good singing it,” but as an artist, “I would love to reach that ‘sweet spot’ this year,” said Noblin, of finessing her desire to dig deeper into her music, “where, I’m only playing my originals for my audience.”
“I enjoy the audience,” she said, “and typically, a more intimate setting allows that connection to happen.”
“My purpose in all venues,” she said, “is to put my heart into what I’m singing so that the listener might feel the emotion behind songs, and not just hear words.” It is something she strives for, since the first time she swung her Taylor guitar over her lap at The Bistro Palms, in her hometown, to gigs at The Funky Mermaid Lounge and Oyster Bar and Off The Hook Bar and Grill.
Her range has also reached the beach scene, for Panama City’s Patches Pub to the brick patio dining set at Enterprise’s Corks & Cattle.
Following her show at The Craft, Noblin can be seen at The Moose Lodge June 22 and will be returning to Taj in Dothan, on July 6 at 8 p.m.
