Wildcats handle Jeff Davis in doubleheader

Enterprise dominated Jeff Davis in a doubleheader last Thursday to remain perfect in area play and set up a collision course with region foe Prattville this week.

The Wildcats (15-14) won the first game 13-0 and picked up a 13-3 win in the second. They will collide with Prattville (26-6) at Donaldson Park on Tuesday night.

Both teams are undefeated in Class 7A, Area 3.

In game one of the doubleheader, Enterprise scored ten runs in the bottom of the first inning. Dalton Price, Connor Purvis, Grant Thornton, Ryan Page, Gage Anderson, Lance Levine and Brody Skeen all found home plate, with Price, Purvis and Thornton all scoring twice.

Page had a hit and batted in four runs in the game, while Anderson was 2-for-3 at-bat with two RBIs and Levine was 1-for-3 at-bat with two RBIs.

Ben Bailey pitched four innings for Enterprise and allowed two hits, struck out seven and walked none.

Game two saw Enterprise start fast in the first inning once again, as the Wildcats scored six runs in the opening inning.

In the bottom of the first inning with runners on second and third, Matthew Hutson singled and sent Parker Sessions and Hunter Sumrall home for the early lead. Hutson scored later, and then a double from Garrett Barefoot sent two more runners home.

Jeff Davis scored three runs in the final inning, but Enterprise responded with six runs in the bottom of the inning.

Hutson had four hits in four plate appearances with two RBIs. Barefoot was 2-for-4 with four RBIs, while Cole Hooper had three hits and two RBIs and Kobe Williams had a hit and two RBIs.

Cooper Charlton, Drew Williams, Sumrall and Sessions had one RBI each.

McCain Sieving pitched three innings for the Wildcats and allowed one hit and zero runs. He struck out two and walked zero.

Enterprise will play Providence Christian at Donaldson Park on Monday at 4 p.m.
