The Eufaula Tigers come out on the field prior to crushing Beauregard last Friday, 63-19. The Tigers open Class 6A Region 2 play tonight at Dothan’s Rip Hewes Stadium. Lakeside plays its home opener as the Chiefs welcome Northside Methodist of Dothan to Reeves Field. Action begins at 7 p.m.

This December, Alabama will celebrate its 200th anniversary of statehood. To celebrate this event, the Alabama Bicentennial Commission was created to guide, support, create and execute events and activities that commemorate the stories of our people, places and path to statehood.

The Eufaula Barbour County Chamber of Commerce Junior Ambassador program has named its latest group. Pictured are Leadership Barbour Director Ann Blondheim and Junior Ambassadors Taylor Hicks, Breshayla Franklin and Madison Moorer.

CLAYTON -- Several items on the check accountability report for the Barbour County School for the months of June and July were called into question by a board member of the Barbour County Board of Education during the most recent board meeting held Aug. 12.
