Neil spent his early years in Barbour County and after graduating high school, he attended Troy and Auburn Universities. He served his country by joining the U.S. Army. Neil was a hardworking man who loved his family. Although he appeared rough and tough on the outside, he was actually a sweet, tender-hearted man on the inside. At times he was impatient and wanted things done yesterday, yet he was someone who would give his right arm to help someone in need. Neil was always rooting for the underdog or the unfortunate and he loved adopting stray animals that showed up at his house. He will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His survivors include his loving wife of 48 years, Martha Bush, Clayton; two daughters, Susan (Jeremy) Brown, Clayton, Leisa (Don Lilly) Kizer, Birmingham; two sons, Charles (Wanda) Sewell, Clayton, Jim Bush, Louisville; six grandchildren, Andy (Crystal) Kizer, Amanda (Alex) Marefka, Brian (Claire) Kizer, Caitlyn, Caleb and Abby Brown; three great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
