Philip Ezell, 64, of Eufaula, Alabama, died Friday, June 7, 2019, at Bay Medical Center in Panama City, Florida. Funeral services were held Monday, June 10, 2019, at 11 A.M., at the Chapman Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Drake Whitelaw officiated and burial followed at 4 P.M. at the Weeks Memorial Cemetery in Lowery, Alabama near Kinston with Chapman Funeral Home directing. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Shriner's Hospital for Children. Born June 14, 1954 in Maryland, Mr. Ezell was the son of the late Wilmer and Louise Morgan Ezell. Philip was a long-time resident of Eufaula where he served on the Eufaula Police Department for over 30 years before retiring as a Patrol Captain. He was also a current member and served as the treasurer and secretary for the Fraternal Order of Police Lake Lode 34. Philip was a Master Mason as well as a devoted father, grandfather, and friend. He was a staple in the community and could often be found at the ballfields or golf course. He will be remembered by his love of Alabama football, deer hunting, golfing, laughter and most of all his love for his children and grandchildren. Survivors include 3 sons: Donnie (Wendy) Ezell of Eufaula, Alabama, Steven (Stacy Cooper) Ezell of Eufaula, Alabama, Taylor (Ashley) Ezell of Mooresville, North Carolina; 1 daughter: Hannah (David) Owens of Mobile, Alabama; 9 grandchildren: Carter Welsh, Logan Ezell, Tabatha Parks, Joey Cordell, Asa Cordell, Tad Maholick, Harrison Ezell, Shelby Owens, Amelia Owens; 1 sister: Joy (Gary) Thames of Geneva, Alabama.
