Mr. Paul H. Oakley, age 88, a resident of Eufaula, died Thursday, June 27, 2019, in Auburn at the Bethany Hospice House following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 pm Sunday, June 30, 2019 at Epworth United Methodist Church with Reverend Gerald Caryl Gordon officiating. Burial will follow in Epworth Cemetery with Glover Funeral Home of Eufaula directing. The family will be receiving friends from 1:30 pm until 2:15 pm, Sunday at the church prior to services. Flowers will be accepted. Mr. Oakley was born on December 4, 1930, in Louellen, Kentucky, the son of Ellis and Lottie Owens Oakley. He lived his early years in Kentucky and later lived in Indiana, Georgia and in Eufaula for the past 30 years. Mr. Oakley was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War and was a longtime member of the Masons, Shriners and Eastern Star. He was also a member of Epworth United Methodist Church and was retired as manager in the hospitality industry. He was preceded in death by his parents, infant sister, Brenda Oakley and 2 brothers Wilbur Oakley and Doug Oakley. Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Polly Hicks Oakley, Eufaula; 2 daughters, Jennifer Oakley Dunegan (Joe), Newville; Connie Adney (Dave), Indianapolis, IN; 2 sons, Ellis Alan Oakley (Ricarda), Lawrenceville, GA; Paul H. Oakley, Jr., Columbus, OH; 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers are Murry Dozier, Ken Hutto, Ethan Miller, Paul Threat, Chad Shelley, Ronnie Dollar and Mike Druin.
