Mr. Coy Thrasher, age 94, a resident of Pell City and formerly of Eufaula, died early Wednesday June 19, 2019 at his residence. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, June 22, 2019 at Glover Funeral Home Chapel in Eufaula and with Mr. Tommy Thrasher officiating. Burial followed in the Memory Gardens Cemetery with Glover Funeral Home directing. Mr. Thrasher was born on August 23, 1924, in Cleburne, Alabama, the son of the late Eber Thrasher and the late Mollie Gentry Thrasher. He spent his early years in Cleburne, Alabama. Mr. Thrasher was a veteran of the United States Army. He served in both WWII and the Korean War. After his tour of duty, he enjoyed a career as a short haul truck driver for 55 years. He worked for McKenzie Tank Lines for 35 years. Mr. Thrasher was preceded in death by his parents; wife Christine Coggin Thrasher; son, Ronald Thrasher; six brothers, Joe Clinton Thrasher, Felton Thrasher, Hugh Thrasher, Clyde Thrasher, Nelson Thrasher, Eston Thrasher; three sisters, Buelah Mae Thrasher Glasgow, Bernice Thrasher Hunt, Myrtle Thrasher Luallen; granddaughter, Sarah Thrasher; a grandson, Daniel Thrasher and great grandson Nathan Warren. Survivors include: three sons, Tommy (Tara) Thrasher, Savannah, GA., Roberts (Patsy) Thrasher, Wetumpka, Richard (Candi) Thrasher, Purvis, MS.; sister, Nana Lee Thrasher Burton, Heftin; eleven grandchildren, Shannon (Jeff) Crowley, Amber (Daniel) Patton, Mark (Sasha) Thrasher, Rhine Thrasher, Tyler Thrasher, Espan Thrasher, Thomas Thrasher, Jessica Williams, Jacob (Lacey) Thrasher; and thirteen great grandchildren, Jordan Crowley, Ashley (Rob) Wallis, Taylor Thrasher, Hunter Thrasher, Shelby Ann Thrasher, Jenna Warren, Nathaniel Patton, Antonio Patton, Ryleigh Kate Williams, Callen Williams, Kaigyn Williams, Braxton McRae Thrasher; and two great-great grandchildren, Lillie Grace Wallis and Ella Gray Wallis.
