Lakeside School’s Taylor Gover, who has signed to play baseball next season at Enterprise State Community college, was chosen as a member of the Dothan Eagle’s Super 12 Baseball Team.
Gover’s Lakeside teammates Christian Beasley and Brandon Leroy were named as Honorable Mention members of the Super 12.
Lakeside won the Alabama Independent School state championship in the spring after sweeping Autauga Academy in the finals.
Gover, who pitched, played first base, third base and caught a few games, finished with a .476 batting average. He had a .564 on-base percentage, 4 home runs, 48 RBI, 8 doubles, 4 triples and was a perfect 9-of-9 stealing bases.
On the mound, Gover was 5-2 with a 2.02 earned run average, a 1.36 WHIP, and 40 strikeouts in 34 2/3 innings pitched.
Gover was the only member of the Super 12 to play in the AISA.
G.W. Long pitcher/third baseman Matt Snell was the Player of the Year. Other members of the Super 12 included G.W.
