The Marianna Police Department reports the arrest of Trevon Jamanta Johnson on charges of possession of cocaine, possession of THC extract and possession of less than 20 grams of marijuana.
The agency says Johnson was behind the wheel of a car that was seen traveling with its headlights off around 8:40 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 14, and that an officer pulled the 1990 Buick sedan over as it exited the Tom Thumb parking lot and traveled south on Jefferson Street.
Authorities say Johnson was asked to get out of the car because the officer detected the odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle.
According to a press release from MPD, Johnson advised that he did have the remains of burnt marijuana cigarettes within the vehicle. A probable cause search was conducted and resulted in the recovery of marijuana and cocaine, officials report. An electronic smoking device was also located which was found to contain THC extract, the agency says. Johnson was then taken into custody and officials say he is being charged with the alleged offenses listed above.
