A suspect in a Marianna shooting on Monday has been captured in Liberty County, according to a press release from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office. The victim in the case was identified as Sha’Myah Bell, who was taken to Southeast Alabama Medical Center for treatment.

The suspect was identified as 27-year-old Nordquelle Daneal Calhoun. Officials say the shooting took place at the corner of East Gate Drive and Pinewood Court during an argument and that Bell was shot in the torso.

After the shooting Calhoun left the area in the victim’s white KIA, officials say, and was seen at the intersection of State Road 71 and Rocky Creek Road. He evaded deputies but was captured in Liberty County by the Florida Highway Patrol. He was taken to the Liberty County jail on an outstanding warrant for alleged failure to appear on a narcotics charge, and officials say he will also be charged with attempted murder and grand theft of a motor vehicle in connection with the Monday incident.
