Ann Jones, owner of Florida Showcase Realty, is known for her willingness to do whatever it takes to help buyers and sellers, but she is also very knowledgeable and has more than 20 years of experience.
Ann and her husband, Don, moved to the area from Pensacola in 1998, when Don transferred to the federal prison in Marianna. When she was new to the area, Ann worked at Chipola College in Workforce Development. A couple of years later, she worked for Farm Credit, while she continued her education.
After obtaining her degree, Ann went to work for Florida Land and Title, where she learned about title insurance. She then worked with mortgage lending for SunTrust Mortgage. After working in real estate for many years, Ann accepted the position of Association Executive Director for the Chipola Board of Realtors.
“God has been good to me,” she explained. “When we decided to buy the business, Don and I both knew it was the right thing to do.”
In 2010, Ann took a giant leap of faith and opened her own business, Real Florida Property, on Market Street in Marianna. After only four years of ownership, she purchased Florida Showcase Realty and combined the two businesses. Only two months later, Ann moved the business to the current location at 4540 Lafayette Street, Suite J.
“I’ve done all sides of the business and have come full circle,” she clarified. Ann and her team of four full-time agents sell mostly residential land, homes and apartments, but they also sell and lease commercial property.
“I want my agents to be successful,” she explained, “so I spend a lot of time training realtors and making sure they are knowledgeable and ethical.” “It’s not about selling the home — it’s about selling yourself and helping other people.”
“I love the business and training buyers,” she said. “I’m willing to go the extra mile to help people, even when it means helping prospective buyers and sellers make necessary repairs in order to close on a home,” she added.
Ann’s family has grown over time to include “three sons, three ‘great’ daughters-in-law, six grandsons and two granddaughters.” She has been a member of Altrusa of Marianna for more than 10 years, and has served as a planning commissioner on the Jackson County Planning Commission for three years. She is also active with the Central Panhandle Board of Realtors and the Emerald Coast Board of Realtors. Ann enjoys supporting Habitat for Humanity and loves being member of Rivertown Community Church.
