Jana Baggett, 41, of Marianna, was killed in a May 27 Jackson County traffic crash and two Georgia residents were seriously injured, according to a press release from the Florida Highway Patrol.

Authorities say Baggett was driving a 2017 Toyota RAV 4 around 11:25 p.m. that evening and Atlanta, Georgia resident Andrew Bellamy was driving a 2018 Toyota Corolla, with one passenger, Tashante Anderson, in the vehicle with him.

Officials say Bellamy was southbound on U.S. 231 in the left travel lane as Baggett was northbound on U.S. 231 but traveling the wrong way, in the left lane of the southbound lane. Officials say Bellamy was unable to avoid the RAV 4 and that the two collided front-to-front. The RAV 4 came to rest in the grass median facing southwest. The Corolla came to rest on the west shoulder of the southbound lanes facing east.

Bellamy and Anderson were taken to Southeast Alabama Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries.

Baggett was taken to Jackson Hospital but died of her injuries.
