Mowrey Elevator’s home office in Marianna is back up and running at full speed now that repairs have been made to building damage caused by Hurricane Michael – and their ready to celebrate with the community.

On Tuesday, June 11, Mowrey will host a grand re-opening starting at 10 a.m. featuring tours and a light lunch at 4518 Lafayette St. downtown.

Now with over 200 employees company-wide, Mowrey started in Davie in 1976 and eventually relocated the bulk of its operations to Marianna after expanding here in 1997. Satellite locations are in Davie, Jacksonville and Atlanta.

Hurricane Michael caused extensive damage to the east side of the Mowrey building, causing the need for roof work and the dislocation of some 20 employees to an alternate on-site workspace while work repairs took place.

Many are familiar with the Mowrey location because of its role as launch site for the City of Marianna’s Independence Day fireworks, a role it will continue next month.

Tuesday’s event is an informal affair, allowing folks to come and go as their convenience.
