Jay Roberts grew up in California. His father was in the military, so his childhood required travel. However, he developed a strong sense of patriotism. That experience provided the structure and background he needed to work with people in many destinations.

In 1983, Roberts returned to Marianna and began working at Piggly Wiggly. However, within a year, he became employed with Sherwin Williams as an assistant manager. He later worked in many other positions with the company, including being an outside sales representative.

In 1993, Roberts moved to Bainbridge, Georgia, and managed a Sherwin Williams store for about eight years. Then he worked as an industry marine representative for eight years. One would think that he had covered all business aspects of the company by then, but Roberts’ journey was not over. From 2006 to 2013, he specialized in Military Bases and Government operations from Pensacola to Thomasville. Since 2000, Roberts has lived in the area, where he has raised four children and now has three grandchildren. “It’s quieter and safer here than in big cities,” Roberts reflected.

Sherwin Williams is an American Fortune 500 Company in the general building materials industry. The headquarters of Sherwin Williams has been in Cleveland since 1866 and the company has more than 40,000 employees in the United States.

“While Sherwin Williams might have the best color matches in the area, we are more than just paint,” Roberts explained. With Roberts leading the way, Sherwin Williams provides customers with a source of creativity that can help home and business owners. Visitors might find that walking into Sherwin Williams in Marianna is like a walk into the past, where people communicate without electronics over a cup of coffee. It’s a warm feeling that transcends into beautiful ideas.

The store also sells roof coatings, wallpaper, road stripping, ladders, concrete coatings and accessories. Sherwin Williams in Marianna is a full-range store in the process of growing with e-commerce. “We are a service oriented store and we have great customers,” Roberts continued. “We want Marianna to grow and we can be a big part of that,” he explained. According to Roberts, the store has coverage of about a 45 mile radius, with a delivery service. Roberts enjoys helping people in surrounding counties, as well as home.
