Scores for the spring Third Grade English/Language Florida Standards Assessments were released late last week and the results look good for Jackson County schools, officials say.
Superintendent Larry Moore said in a statement that 66 percent of the county’s third-graders scored Level 3 or above (Level 5 being the top scoring bracket), while the state average 57 percent of third-graders scoring Level 3 or above. Of the state’s 67 counties, only six had a higher percentage than Jackson, Moore said.
Individual student scores have not been released by the state Department of Education.
Moore, school board members and district staff commended “teachers, students, and principals for their hard work and achievement.”
