Troy University Small Business Development Center will be doing one-on-one consultations at the Dothan Area Chamber of Commerce from 9:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. for one-hour appointments. The Choctawhatchee, Pea and Yellow Rivers Watershed Management Authority will meet at 10 a.m. at the Enterprise Farmers Market, located at 525 N. Main St. The guest speaker will be Kelly Godsey, senior service hydrologist/meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Tallahassee, Florida. The public is invited to attend. Godsey will discuss the importance of the basin-wide Flood Warning System (FWS) gauges located in eight counties in southeast Alabama.

JULY 11

Adventist Community Services will host a Healthy Living Seminar & Cooking School designed for chronic disease prevention at Dothan First Seventh-day Adventist Church, 147 Picard St., in Dothan from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Along with a meal and recipes, attendees will learn about natural remedies and herbs and will receive individual health counseling sessions with lifestyle counselors from Uchee Pines Institute and Dr. Tony DeMorais, a local naturopathic physician and CEO of Rebuild, Restore, Recover LLC. Admission is a $10 donation per person. Registration deadline is July 9. Donations should be payable to Dothan First SDA Church and can be mailed to the attention of Rosalind James, ACS Director, at 147 Picard St. Dothan, AL 36301. The Troy-Dothan Community Band summer concert will be held at 7:30 p.m. at Landmark Park as part of the park’s Music by Moonlight series. The concert will feature movie, popular and patriotic music.

JULY 13

Tew Family Reunion will be held at 11 a.m. in the Texasville Community House near Blue Springs in Barbour County.

JULY 14

Descendants of Joseph Benjamin and Catherine Lavina Gale Baxley will celebrate their 101st Family Reunion from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at the East Geneva County Senior Citizen's Center at 134 W. Bateman Ave. in Slocomb. Everyone is encouraged to attend to enjoy a covered dish meal and to fellowship with family and friends.
