The fast-food restaurant Jack’s is developing plans for two locations in Dothan.
Jack’s – a Southern-style cuisine restaurant with breakfast, lunch and dinner offerings – opened a location in Eufaula earlier this week and has announced plans for a Troy location. A location in Andalusia – currently its southernmost location – opened in January.
In Dothan, restaurants are planned on Highway 431 near the high school, and across from Porter Square Mall at the corner of Moates and West Main streets.
Developers submitted plans for the location near Porter Square Mall on April 8, and plans for the Northview location are expected soon.
Jack’s began as Jack’s Hamburgers in the Birmingham suburb of Homewood in 1960. Since then it has expanded to include 169 locations in Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, and Mississippi, according to the company’s website.
The breakfast menu includes different types of biscuits, pancakes, and hash browns. The lunch and dinner menus include different types of hamburgers and chicken sandwiches, chicken plates, salads and desserts like milkshakes, ice cream, or apple and strawberry cream cheese pies.
Little Caesars Pizza building larger southside location: The Dothan Planning Commission on Wednesday signed off on plans from Little Caesars Pizza to build a larger location approximately two blocks north of its current southside Dothan location. The location will include a drive-thru, according to Jill Proctor, Little Caesars corporate communications manager.
The approximately 1,900 square-foot building will be at 2146 South Oates St. near the intersection of South Oates and Hodgesville Road. The proposed location is an undeveloped lot located north of Fred’s.
Proctor confirmed Little Caesars is relocating the current southside location to the lot.
The plans include 19 parking spots, nine more than the city requires for the building’s proposed size.
