A Dothan man was arrested in connection with a Saturday shooting on Denton Road that injured three people.
Jaquavius Lamonte Flownory, 22, of Dothan, is charged with two counts of aggravated assault non-family gun and one count of shooting into an occupied building.
Police say a fight broke out Saturday afternoon in the 2300 block of Denton Road, and that during the altercation, Flownory pulled a .40 caliber handgun from the waistband of his pants and fired multiple rounds, striking three individuals.
“During the investigation it was determined Flownory was not involved in the fight,” Dothan Police Lt. Lynn Watkins said. “However, Flownory allegedly fired multiple rounds striking three people. One of the individuals injured was a friend of Flownory, and Flownory was supposedly taking up for his friend previously before the shots were fired.”
During the firearm assault, Flownory fired a shot that missed everyone involved in the fight, but the bullet went through the Denton Road United Methodist Church, Watkins said.
Flownory is currently in the Houston County Jail on bonds totaling $90,000.
