A Dothan couple is accused of defrauding a local bank of more than $12,000.
Randall and Kristen Shernell Pressley were arrested Tuesday, June 18, and charged with multiple counts of theft charges.
Kristen Pressley is charged with one count of first-degree theft of property; her husband is charged with six counts of third-degree theft of property, two counts of first-degree theft of property, two counts of second-degree theft of property and two counts of third-degree forgery.
The couple owns BPE Booking LLC and RTP Computers, and police say that between Jan.1 and April 30, multiple checks were written on both accounts and deposited into the couple’s personal account.
“The Pressleys would allegedly write checks on their business account, deposit into their personal account and then withdraw the cash,” said Dothan Police Lt. Lynn Watkins. “The checks were written with the funds not being available in the business account to cover the checks once they cleared.”
According to Watkins, Randall Pressley was also arrested for an outstanding warrant for previous theft charge, and he also had an outstanding warrant for his arrest on a theft charge out of Jackson County, Florida.
Randall Pressley is currently in jail in lieu of bonds totaling $185,000, Kristen Pressley was released on a bond totaling $30,000.
