A Dothan man is arrested after police say he fired shots in the 500 block of South Foster Street on April 24.

Michael Antonio Blackmon, 34, of Dothan, was arrested April 29 and is charged with first-degree attempted assault.

According to police, Blackmon’s daughter was involved in an ongoing altercation with a female acquaintance, when both Blackmon’s daughter and the acquaintance set up a specific location for a fight to take place.

The female acquaintance and several of her family members showed up at the designated area when Blackmon allegedly drove by area filled with adults and children armed with a handgun, and fired multiple shots from his vehicle’s window.

No injuries were reported.

Blackmon is currently out of jail on $30,000 bond.
