Assistant Hartford Police Chief Ben Berry said police have charged 32-year-old Shelton Sandor Smith with felony second-degree domestic violence by assault.
Berry said police charged Smith with striking his former girlfriend across the head with what was described as a police baton type weapon. Berry said the victim was treated and released at a local hospital for her injuries in the assault. Berry said the assault happened around 10 a.m. Tuesday morning.
Berry said police are looking for Smith, who is wanted on the felony domestic violence assault charge. Berry said Smith’s last known address was on T. Peacock Road in Hartford.
