A local man arrested earlier this week in connection with a north Dothan shooting now faces an additional charge of second-degree receiving stolen property.
After eluding police, Caleb Bryan Rodriguez, 20, was apprehended four blocks from a Monday afternoon shooting in the 1900 block of Montgomery Highway. He was arrested and charged with three counts of aggravated assault-gun and discharging firearm into occupied/unoccupied vehicle.
According to police, the firearm used in the shooting was recently located, and had been reported stolen by its owner.
“The gun was found near the area where the officers took Rodriguez into custody,” said Dothan Police Lt. Doug Magill.
Police said none of the three people standing near where the .45-caliber firearm was discharged was injured, but 11 spent cartridges belonging to gun allegedly used by Rodriguez were recovered at the scene.
Police are still investigating the shooting; a motive has not been determined.
Rodriguez is jailed on bonds totaling $75,000.
