A Dothan man is accused of copying and cashing multiple business checks made out to the suspect.

Jacob Daniel Partin, 22, of Dothan, was arrested May 31 and faces three counts of passing a forged instrument.

Police say that on March 8, Partin copied a company check from Extreme Health and Fitness, wrote the check out to himself, and then cashed the check for $927 at Synovus Bank.

“On March 14, a representative with Whatley Darty contacted the police department and reported two checks were copied and cashed,” Dothan Police Lt. Lynn Watkins said. “During the investigation it was determined Partin allegedly entered a Peoples South Bank and cashed the two checks. One check was written for $973 and the second check was written for $931.”

Watkins stated Partin provided his personal identification to cash all three checks.

Partin is in the Houston County Jail on bonds totaling $30,000.
