Mrs. Miriam Roberta Paulk Batchelor, a resident of Ariton, died Friday, December 27, 2019, at her home, the day before her 92nd birthday. Funeral services for Mrs. Batchelor will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday, December 29, 2019, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home and Cremations in Ozark with Pastor Randy Adams officiating. Cirino Colacrai, a resident of Midland City, passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2019 at his residence. He was 89. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, December 29, 2019 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Monsignor Patrick Gallagher and Rev. Jason Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3-6 pm on Saturday, December 28, 2019. Mr. Colacrai was born on November 28, 1930 in Brooklyn, NY. He was married in 1950 to RoseMarie Colacrai, they together had six children. He spent much of his life in Brooklyn before retiring, with his wife, to Las Vegas and then to Alabama to be closer to their children. By trade Mr. Colacrai was a singer/songwriter having created music such as "Nothin Shakin but the Leaves on the Trees" (later recorded by the Beatles) and "That's it I Quit I'm Movin On" (recorded by Sam Cooke and later Adele). He was lead singer in his group "Cirino and the Bowties", who also appeared in movies such as "Alan Freed's Rock, Rock, Rock". He also had appearences in "The Goddess", "West Side Story" and "Love with a Proper Stranger". Mr. Colacrai was artistic, loved to paint with oils, created stained glass pieces, and enjoyed wood working. Mr. Colacrai was preceded in death by his wife, RoseMarie Colacrai, his son-in-law, Rory O'Neill, his sons, Joseph Colacrai, Cirino Colarcrai, Jr., and Daniel Colacrai. Survivors include his three daughters, Lucille O'Neill, Cat (Robert) McKnight, and Jill (Ryan) Sestak; his 10 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren. Miss Addyson Grace Martin of Coffee Springs, Alabama passed away December 25, 2019, at the age of 16. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 30, 2019, at 3:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Geneva, with Dr. Ed Scott, Rev. Nathan Carroll and Rev. Lee Peters officiating. Addyson was born May 30, 2003, in Dothan, Alabama to Frederick Elton and Erica Danielle Coleman Martin. She was a member of the Geneva First Baptist Church, where she was very active in her church youth group. She also played on the Geneva High School Lady Panthers Varsity Softball and Volleyball Teams. She was a member of the Beta Club and involved in the Warren H. Beck Youth Leadership program. She was very active in pageants, where she currently holds the title of Teen Miss Geneva, and playing sports was her passion. Mr. Harold Gene Peacock of Enterprise passed away Thursday, December 26, 2019 at the age of 88. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P.M. He graduated from API (Auburn University) in 1959. He served in the US Air Force. He was an electronic engineer and also served as a Gideon. He is preceded in death by his wife Mary Merle Peacock. Survivors include daughter Cynthia Boyd (William), son Michael Peacock, Sr. (Jean), sisters and brothers Opal Smith, Joan Knight, Billy Peacock (Kathy), Sarah Hatcher (Don), grandchildren Jennifer Maki, Richard Maki (Ariel), Lauren Martin (Phillip), Kate Peacock, Michael Peacock, Jr., and great-grandchildren Grayson Martin and Atiya Maki.
