Gordon Vincent "Vince" Arnold, age 64 of Kinsey (formerly of Dothan), died early Monday morning, January 13, 2020 at a local hospital. Mr. Joe Fisher Green, 91, a resident of Dothan, passed away, Monday, January 13, 2020 at Southeast Health Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, January 17, 2020 at Glover Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Gary Johnson and Reverend Joe R. Green officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Glover Funeral Home of Dothan directing. Mr. Green was born on August 2, 1928 in Dothan the son of Lester and Thollie Brackin Green. He was a 1947 Graduate of Dothan High School and was a U.S. Air Force Veteran. Mr. Green lived in Miami, Florida for 21 years and retired as a Lieutenant Homicide Detective with the Miami Police Department. After retirement he and his family moved back to Dothan. He attended Cornerstone Church in Dothan. He was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife of 55 years, Virginia Green; 4 sisters, Sherrie Middleton, Doris Martin, Audrey Cherry, Sylvia Green; 4 brothers, Wallace, Hidy, L.C., and infant Harold Green. Survivors include: wife, Barbara Meadows Green, Dothan; 2 daughters, Virginia Darline Gorland (Tom), Belinda Green Benak (Bill), both of Dothan; son, Joe Randy Green (Vicki), Knoxville, TN.; 2 sisters, Gloria Green and Thessalie Montgomery both of Dothan; 1 sister-in-law, Evelyn Green, Midland City; 11 grandchildren, Kim Gorland, Michelle Kirkland (Phillip), Jennifer McDonald (Josh), Michael Gorland (KK), Matthew S. Bertha Mae Byrd Ryles, age 100 of Hartford, Alabama died January 13 at Dothan's Southeast Health Medical Center. She is survived by a son, Tim Cody Ryles, Ph.D., and his wife Jennifer Susan Ryles of Brunswick, Georgia; son-in law Oscar Hughes of Hartford; grandchildren Michael Allen Hughes of Birmingham; Rene Ryles-Endres of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida; Andrea Neeley Ryles of Tucker, Georgia; Heather Auld Wilson (Adam) of Atlanta; two great grandchildren Cody Ryles-Endres of Santa Rosa Beach and Liam Reid Wilson of Atlanta, along with numerous relatives throughout the Wiregrass area. Visitation is set for Friday evening, January 17th, from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. at Bottoms Garden Chapel Funeral Home, 12118 East State Highway 52, Hartford. Funeral services will begin 11:00 A.M. Mrs. Ryles was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Cody Ryles, and daughter Betty Sue Ryles Hughes. Bertha Mae Byrd Ryles is the daughter of Acrel Monroe Byrd (1887-1953) and Sarah Gertrude Collins Byrd (1892-1926). Her Byrd siblings, all deceased, were Acrel Lewis; Otis Clinton; J.T.; Alma Bernell; Sara Bessie and Julius Henry.
Olivia Ann Bentley Tift, of Dothan, Alabama, died peacefully at home, on January 12, 2020, at the age of 77. Ann was born in Dothan, Alabama, to Oliver and Regina Bentley, on September 27, 1942. She was a graduate of Auburn University, and worked for a number of years, in real estate. In her free time, she earned her captain's license, and had a passion for sailboats. Ann and her husband, of 31 years, Tommy Tift, loved taking out their sailboat, "Caroline", and spending time at their vacation home, in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. She also enjoyed evenings at the symphony with her childhood friends, from Dothan. Ann is survived by; her husband, Thomas Willingham Tift, Jr., her son, Matthew Bentley Warrick, and three step-children, Thomas Willingham Tift, III, Richard Hardwick Tift, and Caroline Tift Harrison and husband, Lowndes. She also leaves behind six grandchildren; McKenna Lauren Warrick, Andrew Grayson Warrick, Austin Tift Northenor, George Lowndes Harrison, IV, Claire Hardwick Harrison, Catherine Tift Harrison. Visitation took place at Second-Ponce de Leon Baptist Church, located at 2715 Peachtree Rd NE, Atlanta, GA 30305, at 1:00pm, on Wednesday, January 15, 2020. The memorial service was held, at the Church, immediately following visitation, at 2:00pm. A family graveside service, will be held, in Tifton, January 16, 2020. Mr. James Wendell Youngblood of Orlando, FL, formerly of Geneva County, AL, passed away Thursday, January 9, 2020 at Advent Health Orlando. He was 79. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 17, 2020 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Slocomb. Interment will follow in the Slocomb City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until service time. Mr. Youngblood was born June 3, 1940 in Geneva County to the late James Sidney and Nettie Mae Kent Youngblood. Wendell was employed with Lockheed Martin at NASA for over 40 years and relished telling stories that involved his long career. He enjoyed fishing, going out to eat, and spending time with his family. Wendell loved his canine companion Tater "Tot"!
