Mr. Dallas L. "Sonny" Watson, III, a resident of Hartford, died late Tuesday evening, October 1, 2019. He was 73. Private memorial services will be held at a later date. Mr. Watson, son of the late Dallas Lafayette Watson, Sr. and Jeanette Hutto Watson, was a native and lifelong resident of Hartford. In earlier years, he was employed by the Hartford Police Department as a dispatcher. Mr. Watson was instrumental in forming the Hartford Rescue Squad in 1969 and was active in the Rescue and Fire Department until his health began to decline. He attended Wallace Community College, where he was in the first Emergency Medical Technician Program. Mr. Watson was retired from the State of Alabama Department of Public Safety as a dispatcher at the Dothan Post. He was a Master Mason, member of Lodge #409 in Hartford. Mr. Watson had a "servant's heart" and enjoyed spending time with his children. Surviving relatives include his children, Christy Miller and Michael Watson, both of Dothan; two grandchildren, Tara Watson and Brandon Fussell; his sister, Marie Watson; mother of Michael, Glenda Watson; mother of Christy, Joyce McNeal. Dr. Charles Thomson Allen, III of Dothan, Alabama passed away on Friday, October 4, 2019 at his residence. He was 76. Charles was born on November 30, 1942 in St. Joseph, Mo. He graduated in 1960 from North Fulton High School in Atlanta, Ga. After high school, he attended Auburn University and graduated in 1964. Charles served as a Captain in the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam War and received two Purple Hearts for his service. After serving his country, he graduated from dental school at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond. He practiced dentistry in Dothan, Alabama until his retirement in 2008. Charles enjoyed many hobbies, but his passion was the outdoors and woodworking. He was a faithful member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church where he became a Christian in 2004 and enjoyed the Men's Sunday School Class led by Johnny Oppert. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Charles T. Allen, Jr. and Juliette Cross Allen; and a grandson, Hunter Allen Killebrew. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Bryars Allen; three children, Mike (Amy) Allen of Laurel, Ms., Laura (Kenny) Stewart of Dothan, Al., and Hank (Dowe) Allen of Auburn, Al.; seven grandchildren, Bryars (Elizabeth) Allen of Hattiesburg, Ms., Myrick (Ashliegh) Allen of Laurel, Ms., Victoria (Tyler) Bryant of Laurel, Ms., Thomson Killebrew of Dothan, Al., Bricken Allen, Emily Allen and Henry Allen of Auburn, Al.; and two great grandchildren. A memorial service with military honors will be held on Monday, October 7, 2019 at 2 pm at Ridgecrest Baptist Church with the Reverend Ray Jones and Reverend Mike Allen officiating. Family will receive friends at the church starting at 12:30 pm until service time. James. M. Adkinson, 76, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 3, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 8, 1943 to the late Homer Adkinson and Johnnie (Williams) Adkinson in Henry County, AL. Celebration of Life Service will be 2 PM, Monday, October 7, 2019 at Ward Wilson Funeral home with visitation one hour before service. James retired after 42 years working at Fort Rucker as an Aircraft Mechanic. He proudly served in the United States Navy. Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years: Linda (Denton) Adkinson, sons: James D. Adkinson (Fiancée; Stephanie Smith) and Timothy S. Adkinson (Fiancée; Milinda Davis); sisters: Jolaine Reynolds, Jackie (Don) Zorn and Donna Shinholster; grandchildren: Jessica, Spencer, and Jamie Adkinson and Elizabeth Bass. Jo Ann Braswell, a resident of Dothan, Al. passed away surrounded by family at her home October 4, 2019. She was 82 years old. A celebration of life will be held Sunday, October 6, 2019 with services at 10. a.m. and visitation from 9:00 a.m. until service time at Ward Wilson Funeral Home Mrs. Braswell was a longtime resident of Clio, Al. She retired from civil service at Ft. Rucker after 30 years. She was a devoted wife and mother of 61 years. She was preceded in death by her parents Randall and Fannie Lou McKnight and her sister Betty Lou Cox. She is survived by her husband Remer Braswell; Children and Spouses, Russell Braswell of Birmingham, Al. and Cindy, Rena Miller of Dothan, Al. and Charles, Grandchildren and spouses; Jared Braswell of Birmingham, Al. and Hannah, Jacob Braswell of Mineral, Va., Jana Ware of Huntsville, Al. and Ross, Hannah Miller of Dothan, Al., great-grandchild, Landon Braswell of Birmingham, Al. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She was truly an angel on earth and now is flying high.

Marie Elise Robie, 84, passed away Thursday, October 3rd at Wesley Place in Dothan, Alabama. Marie was born April 9, 1935 in Meadville, PA the daughter of Leon and Katherine Nageotte. She and her husband Donald Robie raised their family in Oak Ridge, TN. They have three children, Cheryl Robie Tarrant and husband Pitt Tarrant of Dothan AL, David Robie and wife Karen of Huntsville AL, Kevin Robie and wife Pam (who passed in 2017) of Los Angeles CA; along with three grandchildren Michael Robie and wife Bridget, Jenna Robie, and Ariana Gabison. When her husband of 60 years passed in 2017, she moved to Dothan, AL where she was happily surrounded by family and friends. Marie was an artist and animal lover with a joyful spirit. She is admired for her courage, strength and sense of humor in dealing with Multiple Sclerosis. Special thanks to the staff of Martin Wing at Wesley Place on Honeysuckle for making her feel happy and at home.
