Dianne Tindell said she can’t describe it, but it’s something she sees in the face of brides-to-be when they know they’ve picked the right dress for their wedding day.
She hopes to see many of those glowing facial expressions during the Dothan Eagle Bridal Extravaganza at the Dothan Civic Center Sunday, Jan. 31. The event, set from 1-4:30 p.m., is the region’s largest showcase for vendors of wedding-related services throughout the community.
A fashion show featuring the latest trends of bridal attire will also take place. Door prizes and a honeymoon to be given away by one of the event’s sponsors, AAA Travel, add excitement to the event.
Dothan Eagle marketing manager Stephanie Madden said more than 40 vendors are expected to serve attendees who come from as far as Florida and Georgia to the extravaganza.
“This is the same one-stop shop where you can plan your entire day in one afternoon, from the invitation to the dress, to the caterer and florist,” she said.
“It’s a fun event for the entire family – not only for the bride and her mom, but the entire family can come and sample wedding cake or visit with the vendors.”
Tindell said she plans this year to bring more gowns to the event, where she will feature two new designers and more bridesmaid dress designs.
Her business is five years old, though Tindell said she started working in the bridal industry as a sales associate and bridal consultant nine years ago.
“It is super awesome to have the opportunity to get your name out at the bridal event with brides you wouldn’t normally get to meet if you just rely on them showing up in the store,” Tindell said.
“I enjoy talking to them about what they have in mind.”
Madden said the sponsors for this year’s bridal event, in addition to AAA Travel, are the House of Flowers and the Dothan Civic Center.
Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door.
